2024 Mission Recap: Healers and Hope Dealers

Share

In July 2024, a group of 44 volunteers answered a call that went beyond just a mission—it was a divine appointment. Representing Mission of Hope Vietnam, our team of 6 Physicians, 2 Nurses, 8 Dentists, 1 Dental Hygienist, 2 Dental Assistants, 1 Pharmacist, 11 Mission Volunteers, and 13 Student Leaders set out with a shared purpose: to bring hope and healing to the remote areas of Vietnam.

This journey was not just about providing medical and dental care; it was about responding to God’s call with open hearts and obedient spirits. Our motto, “Healers and Hope Dealers,” perfectly encapsulates who we are and what we do. We are not just medical professionals or volunteers—we are instruments of God’s love, delivering hope through healing wherever He leads us.

Over the course of two weeks, we served in 8 different locations, touching the lives of 2,094 patients. Together, we filled 4,167 prescriptions, extracted 772 teeth, and distributed 1,160 gifts, including bags of rice and money. But the true impact of our mission goes beyond these numbers. It is found in the lives transformed by the healing touch of God’s love.

Each act of service, whether it was diagnosing an illness, easing a patient’s pain, or simply offering a listening ear, was a manifestation of God’s grace. We witnessed firsthand how God takes our acts of obedience and multiplies them to make a profound difference. The smiles we brought to those in pain, the comfort we offered to the weary, and the hope we ignited in those who had lost it—these are the miracles that happen when we say “yes” to God’s call.

This mission was also a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from unity in Christ. Our diverse team, brought together from different backgrounds and professions, worked as one body to fulfill God’s purpose. Whether it was a physician using their skills to heal, a volunteer offering a comforting word, or a student leader guiding with wisdom beyond their years, every member of our team played a vital role in delivering God’s love and hope.

As we return home, the question before us is: What will we do with what God has revealed to us? Our mission as “Healers and Hope Dealers” does not end when we leave the field; it continues in every interaction, every act of kindness, and every moment of grace we extend. The lessons we learned and the hope we witnessed must now be carried into our daily lives, so that the spirit of Mission of Hope Vietnam continues to shine through us.

To the young leaders among us—the Children of Hope—you are the future of this mission. God has planted seeds of compassion, courage, and faith in your hearts, and we are excited to see how He will continue to use you to bring hope and healing to those in need.

As we close this chapter, we look forward with hope and anticipation for what lies ahead. In two years, we hope to reunite and continue our mission, answering God’s call to bring hope through healing to more communities around the world. Until then, we carry with us the memories, the lessons, and the inspiration of our time in Vietnam, and we remain committed to being God’s hands and feet wherever we are.

Thank you to everyone who made this mission possible. Your obedience to God’s call, your sacrifice, and your open hearts have left an indelible mark on the lives of those we served—and on each of us. Together, we are Mission of Hope Vietnam: Healers and Hope Dealers, and our work continues by God’s grace.
